After skimming the article (reading the introduction, conclusion, and skimming the body), write a single topic-driven, well-developed paragraph. Clearly identify the Dallas’s central thesis and supporting arguments. Be specific. Use examples from the text in your summary—textual evidence (summary, paraphrase, and quote).

Jose Dallas is supplying the argument for Homosexuality in the church that Gays use to support their life style. Then he provides the counter argument against the life style that they live. He provides both opinions in a respectful manor, neither bashing either side with his “Jesus Stick”, he instead selects to give both a shield and spear, providing an argument and a reply to match the other. Dallas provides three Topics that Homosexuals use, and then the arguments that they use to support themselves under each topic. He uses “sexuality is inborn” (born gay or straight), then he goes into the religious perspective of the argument. Finally, he enters into what the scriptures say, and gives several examples to support the arguments.

In Jose Dallas's article "responding to pro gay theology, part 1: Social justice arguments" he gives 3 different perspectives on homosexuality, social justice arguments, general religious arguments, and scriptural arguments. In social justice he says that they sound good because they "demand an end to homophobia and insensitivity." he then goes on to break down Simon LeVay's research that an area of a homosexual, heterosexual and straights persons brains are different. he also breaks down many other arguments from people who make misleading studies about homosexuals and straights.
Joe Dallas gives many different reasoning behind gays in the church. He uses many examples such as the "born this way" argument as well as explains his view on the "gay christian" lifestyle. His tone however is not judgmental, but calm and informative. He then explains different information he has received differing homosexuals from heterosexuals. He ends with one last argument to concluded his article with facts and other scripture to give in credibility.

Joe Dallas- Summary
Joe Dallas divides his arguments and idea into three categories, which are, social justice arguments, general religious arguments, and scriptural arguments to be able to be specific about the pro-gay theology. Pro-gay theology has a lot of things that go against the Bible but we cannot judge them but instead try to help them. One things that pro-gays do is that they see homosexuality as something that God created and to be right next to heterosexuality. “But to be seen as created by God, the traditional understanding of homosexuality needs to be discredited.” The fact that they put this as something made by God, we need to go the other way from that. Christians tend to set aside and condemn people practicing homosexuality completely and this itself is a sin. Most homosexuals sit in the lie that they were born that way and that they cannot be changed but we know that this is not true. “If you cannot empathize with a homosexual person because of fear of, or revulsion to, them, then you are failing our Lord.” This adds to the idea that if we judge and look down or condemn homosexuals we are also letting God down because that is not what he wants us to do. There are some things that we might agree with pro-gay theology like some statistics but where we have to disagree and argue is where they start to rewrite or change what the Bible says to their benefit.
In this annotated article by Joe Dallas he talks a lot about Gay Theology, and it taking it a step further and redefining homosexuality. His tone throughout the article is very mellow and he is straight to the point with his arguments and he is in no way judging others beliefs. In example of one of his arguments he expresses is "Jesus said nothing about homosexuality". He then gives us a lot of different information from Heterosexuals and homosexuals. He concludes this article with scripture and different facts to back up his arguments. "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed [koite] kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. (Heb 13:4)"

Joe Dallas Summary
In Jose Dallas' article "Responding to Pro Gay Theology", he talks about homosexuals in church and their reason for being there. The reasons or arguments are social justice arguments, general religious arguments, and scriptural arguments. He then goes on to explain those three arguments. But one argument that they seem to say a lot is that they are "born this way". While he is giving examples to support his arguments, he is saying everything with an informative and not at all hateful tone.

Joe Dallas Summary
In Joe Dallas' article "Responding to Pro Gay Theology", he is basically telling his readers the main argument for the gay people in the church. On page 3 Dallas quotes the founder of the Metropolitan Community Churches, Rev. Troy Perry and writes "To condemn homosexuals, many denominations have intentionally misread and misinterpreted their Bible to please their own personal preference." After that quote, Dallas proceeds to tell his readers that Christians are intentionally wrong about homosexuality. Dallas goes on to expose all the arguments between Christians and homosexuals and proceeds to tell his readers his responses to each argument.

Joe Dallas Summary
Mr. Dallas begins his article by saying that the vigorous debate between Chirstians and homosexuals is not surprising. later in his work he states Reverend Troy Perry and other believe that "not only are most Christians wrong about homosexuality but many or most are intentionally wrong- deliberately reading their prejudice against gays into the Bible." Dallas then responses by "The fact is, in Leviticus, Romans, 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy, homosexuality is mentioned in the context of sexual and immoral behavior!" Finally he concludes that even though ten percent of the population has nor ever will be gay we don't know that for sure.

Joe Dallas- Responses to the Pro-Gay Arguments
Joe Dallas, a former gay rights advocate converted to Christianity many years before writing these responses to arguments with pro-gay advocates. Dallas uses logic and Biblical content to explain both sides of the arguments specifically. He even explains why some are “misleading and exaggerated.” Regarding the argument of Levitical Law, the pro-gay argument states that God is referring to idolatry when he is actually pointing out homosexuality. According to Dallas’ writings, it seems that homosexuals like to avoid the intended purpose of God’s word. This is how heterosexuals work as well. Both sides of the argument use their own twist on the Bible’s teachings to make their own claim. However, this only leads back to the cat and mouse game of the more dominating Christians chasing after the truth about homosexuality.

Dallas's argument against Pro Gay Theology revokes their interpretation of scripture and provides the true meaning of the texts. He quotes versus for readers to read for themselves and gives both the true meaning and the skewed meaning of the words. Pro Gay theologians argue that "Jesus Said Nothing About Homosexuality," in that he never spoke of it himself, that he was more interested in love. Joe argues that this is misleading because every word in the Bible is inspired by God and therefore homosexuality is labeled a sin. This is an example of picking and choosing in the bible, believing that some parts of the bible have no authority. He also tears apart studies done, some claiming that "10% of Americans claim to be homosexual so how could so many be wrong," when 25% of that 10% were prisoners who many of which were sex offenders (unreliable research). Theologians also claim that it's unchangeable, when the Kinsley institute claims that 84% of homosexuals have changed their orientation at least once. Dallas counters the argument that homosexuality is inborn with Dr. William Byne calling "inborn evidence inconclusive." The many arguments for homosexuality are flawed and Dallas explores these flaws throughout the entire article.
