Pearcey's argument breaks down the cultures overall materialistic view of life and sexual identity, opening up readers eyes to the deterioration of the originating value in physical identity. Nancy declares that "fragmented view of human nature," is seen not only in gender, but is incorporated in all of liberal ideology including the support of treating a human fetus as "expendable". She claims that ,"the biological structure of our bodies is not some evolutionary accident," and that the make and female form have a "divine purpose." The author provides a survey, from the institute of American Values, that 40 percent of women in college participate in "hooking up." And the culture continuously tries to promote this, that you won't get hurt, that there is a line between line between love and sex. From looking at the outcomes this really doesn't work. Pain and heart ache comes from individuals engaging in activity that is not the way God planned it to be. Along with sexual activity comes sexual identity or sexual orientation which is another lie that we create, to justify experimenting sexually with whoever we want. We, as society, have stopped giving respect to the bodies in which were were created. Pearcey urges that we speak out with the love of Christ to respect God's design for sexual interaction, so we can experience the "joyous unity on all levels."

Summary- Pearcey’s Argument
In Nancy Pearcey’s book, “Saving Leonardo: A Call to Resist the Secular Assault on Mind, Morals & Meaning,” she addresses how our post-modern society has adopted many secular liberal ideas as solutions or answers to our issues or questions. She not only hits the topics of sexuality, but also relationships used for only sex and nothing else, and the “alienation” of our youth. Pearcey says that her personal experiences with Ivy League university students and radio producers are indicative of the turmoil we’re in. She also explains that young people are constantly getting hurt by “friends with benefits” relationships. Many teenagers are becoming emotionally attached to their friend used only for sex. This is bad for our society because they may become dependent on a particular person for happiness through sex, and not emotions like the Bible says so. In summary, Pearcey’s objective here is to inform the public of what is going on in our young people’s minds.

Pearcey's argument
Pearcey's article is about sexual encounters between homosexuals, relationships between male and female, and talks about youth in the church. A part of the article that I found very interesting is the section on relationships between male and female, or the "when adults aid and abet" section. in this section it talks mainly about premarital sex, and gives examples of sources that say it is actually a good thing and no big deal and how the girl does not have to grow emotionally with the male. Nancy tells us about this website called scarleteen that talks about how you can "separate sex from love." and other examples of how you can keep your heart from growing closer with someone you have sexual relations with. I honestly found this very surprising and i just didnt know what to think while reading this. Sex is supposed to be a very sacred and special thing between a HUSBAND and a WIFE. The moment is supposed to be special between the two partners, and if we are teaching girls to go around having sex and not growing attached to the sexual partners than we are teaching girls to basically be whores and sleep around, which i find very wrong. anyway after my rant this article is also about homosexual relations and the end of it talks about how we need the younger generation to be active church goers if we want to win over the surrounding society.

Pearcey's article is about sexual connections between homosexuals, relationships with a man and a women, and talks about our generation going to church. In this article that I found very interesting is the section on relationships and the "fragmented view of human nature”. Nancy tells us about this website called scarleteen that talks about how you can "separate sex from love.” Which was very disturbing because why are you trying to inform teens that sex and love are different subjects. First sex is a special experience between the two partners, and if we are teaching girls to go around having sex and not growing attached to the sexual partners than we are teaching girls to basically be whores and sleep around, which i find very wrong. The article is about homosexual relations and in the end of the article he talks about how we need our generation and the future generation to be active in the church and become close with the lord.

Pearcey Summary
The Secularism, Sex, and Lies this culture of life is far from from normal or “neutral” even though there are people who think that’s the way it should be. We are living in the “hook-up culture” and we also have one of the worst sexual issues right now. “hooking up”, “purely physical encounters with no expectation of any personal relationship.” This shows how our generation is okay with just getting with someone sexually with having no feelings. Christians will never fit in this thought of our generation these days because this goes completely against the Christian life. “Liberal Christians tend to follow the lead of secularists on these issues instead of offering a genuine alternative.” Christians the are classified as “liberals” do not try to go against this but instead go along with it.

In Pearcey's article "Saving Leonardo: A Call to Resist the Secular Assault on Mind, Morals, and Meaning", Pearcey is being brutally honest about what society has come to. She is telling her readers about what young people think is okay and then explains why it is not okay. For example, Pearcey talks about "hooking up". She tells us about how young people think it is okay to hook up because "what we do with our bodies does not define us as a person." Then she goes on and talks about how hooking up IS big deal because people could get hurt and it is morally wrong because you are not growing with the person spiritually or emotionally, it is strictly sexual. No strings attached when you are hooking up, but young people do not see it like that.
Pearcey's article "Saving Leonardo; A Call to Resist the Secular Assult on Mind, Morals, and Meaning" she is sharing her view on what today's world view has become. She describes different situations that our youth has begin to think is okay. She talks about friend with benefits and using someone just for sexual activity. Kids think that it doesn't matter what they do with their body because it is theirs. This ties into homosexual sin because although it is morally wrong, the person does it to get away from the social norm and believe that it doesn't matter what they do because it is their body and no one else's. She argues that this "hooking up" is not good for someone and they need to get emotionally involved in not just physical.

Pearcey Summary
Nancy Pearcey begins by saying that when she was at a Christian conference she was asked "But if we talk about a Christian worldview, aren't we imposing our views on others?" She then countered with the question "Is the liberal position neutral?" later on she states that the biblical worldview is Teleological. Pearcey goes on to state that the "fluid view of gender is typically presented as liberating, a way to create your own identity instead of accepting one that has been culturally assigned." Well is it our is it just desire to be different. Some people just want to fit in with the culture and fit in with what is right. People love "uproars" because it gets them something to have their opinion on that someone famous shares that same opinion.

My Generation
Pearcey is describing some of the things wrong with my generation, like the horrible process of hooking up, or friends with benefits. A relationship with no emotional meaning to it what so ever, this has become a common practice among teens and college students. Pearcey states that this is not only a sin against God’s creation, but it is also not possible, because of how we were designed. My generation has selected to ignore this, and shows it with quotes like, “the more detached you can be from your sexuality, the cooler you are.” (64) it is taken a step further when you ask “if sex is just exchanging pleasure, why should it matter if you are boy on boy or girl on girl?” It matters not in our culture now days, and in a religion that is normally recognizing that Gay is wrong, it is shameful when a minister undergoes a sex change to become a male, saying, “My body didn’t match what I am.” The disease has tainted what is supposed to be the cure! Christians are supposed to follow God’s design, not societies. This is what we, as a generation are diving into, What can we do to halt the nose dive? Pray and repent.

Pearcey Summary
Pearcey's article talks about sexual relations between homosexuals and heterosexuals in todays society. There are many young people who think a certain about certain things, like "hooking up". It is a social norm to be having sexual relations with someone, while separating love from it. Homosexual activity is also a social norm and both of these are things that are morally wrong. At the end of the article she tells us readers that we need to start bringing these young people closer to church and God.
